"Could you roll all sins into one mass; could you take murder, and blasphemy, and lust, and adultery, and fornication, and every thing that is vile, and unite them all into one vast globe of black corruption, they would not equal even then the sin of unbelief. This is the monarch sin, the quintessence of guilt; the mixture of the venom of all crimes; the dregs of the wine of Gomorrah: it is the A1 sin; the master-piece of Satan; the chief work of the devil... Unbelief, you see, has the Cain-mark upon its forehead. God hates it; God has dealt hard blows upon it; and God will ultimately crush it. Unbelief dishonours God. Every other crime touches God's territory; but unbelief aims a blow at his divinity, impeaches his veracity, denies his goodness, blasphemes his attributes, maligns his character; therefore, God, of all things, hates first and chiefly, unbelief, wherever it is." C. H. Spurgeon, Spurgeon's Sermons, Vol II, The Sin Of Unbelief NONE OF US BELIEVE BY NATURE: but after the Holy Ghost has convinced us of the sin of our natures, and the sin of our lives and duties, in order to convince us of our utter inability to save ourselves, AND THAT WE MUST BE BEHOLDEN TO GOD, AS FOR EVERYTHING ELSE, SO FOR FAITH (without which it is impossible to please, or be saved by Christ) HE CONVINCES US ALSO, THAT WE HAVE NO FAITH." George Whitefield, Sermon, The Holy Spirit Convincing The World Of Sin, Righteousness, And Judgment "WHEN I FIRST DISCOVERED WHAT FAITH REALLY WAS, AND EXERCISED IT -- for with me these two things came together, I BELIEVED AS SOON AS EVER I KNEW WHAT BELIEVING MEANT -- then I thought I had never before heard that truth preached." C. H. Spurgeon, Autobiography -- The Great Change - Conversion "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: IT IS THE GIFT OF GOD." Ephesians 2:8 "If we believe not with FAITH DIVINE AND SUPERNATURAL, we believe not at all." John Owen, The Reason Of Faith "There wanteth even in the hearts of God’s people a greater reverence of the Word of God than to this day appeareth among us, and this let me say, that want of reverence of the Word is the ground of all disorders that are in the heart, life, conversation, and in Christian communion. Besides, the want of reverence of the Word layeth men open to the fearful displeasure of God." John Bunyan, A Treatise On The Fear Of God "So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." Romans 10:17 |
The name has been changed to protect the guilty, but at the end of the day, the CRITICAL TEXT, which almost all modern "bibles" are based on, is still nothing but the LATIN VULGATE TEXT in FULL BLOSSOM. The SAME Latin Vulgate Text that the Reformers and Puritans rejected out of hand, the SAME Latin Vulgate Text that the Reformers and the Puritans branded as CORRUPT, the SAME Latin Vulgate Text that the Reformers and Puritans claimed had shrouded the world in spiritual darkness.
The Critical Text advocates will perhaps try to deny this by burying you in a world of minutia, or the great shell game of manuscript classification, which is highly effective against the feeble-minded and undiscerning, yet all of it amounts to nothing but minor spelling and other insignificant alterations and adjustments, for the SUBSTANCE remains unchanged, and as one who has personally collated Vaticanus B and Sinaiticus Aleph in the New Testament, the two manuscripts -- the two habitual liars -- that almost all modern "bibles" are based on, I know very well of what I speak.
Indeed, having personally collated B, Aleph and other manuscripts in the New Testament, and having lived with and been INTIMATELY familiar with these manuscripts for more than ten years now, there is not a person or group of persons on this planet who could successfully debate me on this issue, and whom I wouldn't THOROUGHLY EMBARRASS in the attempt. In short, the Critical Text and the Latin Vulgate Text are virtually IDENTICAL IN SUBSTANCE.
To wit, the Critical Text omits GOD in 1 Timothy 3:16, just like the Latin Vulgate Text does; the Critical Text butchers the Lord's prayer in Luke 11:2-4, just like the Latin Vulgate Text does (see Burgon Excerpt); the Critical Text removes Jesus as the Creator by omitting the phrase "by Jesus Christ" in Ephesians 3:9, just like the Latin Vulgate Text does; the Critical Text omits "without a cause" in Matthew 5:22, just like the Latin Vulgate Text does; the Critical Text omits the doxology in Matthew 6:13, just like the Latin Vulgate Text does; the Critical Text omits the spiritual warfare clause "which is in heaven" in John 3:13, just like the Latin Vulgate Text does; the Critical Text removes the sanctification of the Holy Spirit by omitting the phrase "through the Spirit" in 1 Peter 1:22, just like the Latin Vulgate Text does; the Critical Text omits Acts 8:37, just like the Latin Vulgate Text does; the Critical Text omits the designation of "Christ" as God in Romans 14:10, just like the Latin Vulgate Text does; the Critical Text removes the Son of God as our strength by omitting "Christ" in Philippians 4:13, just like the Latin Vulgate Text does; the Critical Text omits the prophetic fulfillment of Matthew 27:35 by removing the prophecy entirely, just like the Latin Vulgate Text does, the Critical Text omits "take up the cross" in Mark 10:21, just like the Latin Vulgate Text does; the Critical Text omits "I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last" in Revelation 1:11, just like the Latin Vulgate Text does -- AD INFINITUM. See Patristic Comparison Chart for additional data on these passages.
No man with an OUNCE of discernment can deny that the Critical Text is merely the Latin Vulgate Text rehashed and renamed. The SAME Latin Vulgate Text that ruled the dark ages, the SAME Latin Vulgate Text that the Reformers and Puritans gave their lives to overturn, the SAME Latin Vulgate Text that the Reformers and Puritans condemned as being a FALSE TEXT proclaiming a FALSE Jesus, a FALSE gospel, and a FALSE spirit, as the Holy Spirit HIMSELF testifies in those whom he truly indwells.
And of course, the Reformers and Puritans were not only aware of the above corruptions, but of every other significant variant as well. In short, there is not a SINGLE, SOLITARY significant variant extant today that the Reformers and Puritans were not aware of. Not ONE. Of course not, for the Latin Vulgate Text of yesteryear is the Critical Text of today, and the Reformers and Puritans were EMINENTLY aware of the text of the Latin Vulgate. Yet, the Reformers and Puritans rejected all of these corruptions, for unlike the UNREGENERATES of our day, the Reformers and the Puritans were REGENERATE and filled with the Holy Spirit.
Indeed, unlike the UNREGENERATES of our day, the Reformers and Puritans possessed the supernatural discernment of the Holy Spirit and therefore were endued with the SAME witness that the Holy Spirit engenders in ALL whom he truly indwells, for the Holy Spirit bears INFALLIBLE WITNESS -- I say, the Holy Spirit HIMSELF bears INFALLIBLE WITNESS -- to his TRUE WORD in ALL who are truly born of the Holy Spirit. There are NO exceptions, for EVERY ONE who is of the truth hears the voice of the Spirit, which is the voice of Jesus. John 18:37, John 14:17, John 16:13
For example, there is not a genuinely born again Christian on this planet who would consent to the removal of GOD in 1 Timothy 3:16 if given the choice, for the Holy Spirit HIMSELF bears INFALLIBLE WITNESS that this is EXACTLY what Paul or his amanuensis wrote when he published his first epistle to Timothy. He who does not have the supernatural witness of the Holy Spirit to this truth is he who does not have the Holy Spirit at all, for, as is well known among ALL who are truly regenerate, there is not an IOTA of genuine revelation apart from this truth. See 1 Timothy 3:16 Examined for a fuller discussion of this verse.
There is a DIRECT correlation between the Critical/Latin Vulgate Text and the mass unregeneracy in professing Christendom today. A DIRECT correlation, and he who does not know that does not know ANYTHING of spiritual value. NOTHING whatsoever. The advocates of the Critical/Latin Vulgate Text are blind leaders of the blind. They are unregenerate TO THE MAN. That is not hyperbole. It simply is not possible for a GENUINELY BORN AGAIN Christian to kick against the pricks, as the advocates of the Critical/Latin Vulgate Text do, for the Holy Spirit HIMSELF bears INFALLIBLE WITNESS to the VERACITY of the TEXTUS RECEPTUS, or the TRADITIONAL TEXT, while simultaneously bearing INFALLIBLE WITNESS to the CORRUPTION of the Critical/Latin Vulgate Text.
He who claims otherwise is the mouthpiece of Satan. See Latin Vulgate & Blind Leaders Of The Blind for further information.
As I said above, as I have personally collated B, Aleph and other manuscripts in the New Testament, and have lived with and been INTIMATELY familiar with these manuscripts for more than ten years now, there is not a person or group of persons on this planet who could successfully debate me on this issue, and whom I wouldn't THOROUGHLY EMBARRASS in the attempt.
If you would escape the condemnation of the blind leaders of the blind, if you would be born again yourself, GENUINELY born again, then FLEE the advocates of the Critical/Latin Vulgate Text like the plague, for their leaven is WHOLLY OF THE FLESH, as the Holy Spirit HIMSELF testifies, and if you continue to follow them, you WILL fall into the ditch.
Would you be born again? GENUINELY born again?
Then take wise counsel -- pick up a Bible based on the Traditional Text -- in English, the ONLY VALID Bible based on the Traditional Text is the King James Bible -- and then read with SOLEMNITY, beginning in the Gospels preferably, and beg Jesus Christ to reveal himself to you, and give him no rest until he does, for if you read the TRUE written Word of God, you will find the Lord of Glory, even Jesus Christ, moving upon the face of the waters in its pages, just as he moved upon the face of the waters when he walked across the Sea of Galilee, and if you follow the advice just given, and if you persist, Jesus Christ HIMSELF will verily MANIFEST HIMSELF to you (for he HIMSELF promises to do this for those who truly heed this advice), just as he MANIFESTED HIMSELF to his disciples when he moved upon the face of the waters as he walked across the stormy sea some two thousand years ago, and just as he did with ME not too many years ago, and just as he has done with a FEW others from day to day since that time, in this very generation, and just as he will do for YOU if -- IF -- you heed my advice, and if -- IF -- you persist therein, for he who promised is FAITHFUL.
